Cast a Line, and Watch the World Go by
Fishing in San Simeon is about more than what you catch. It’s about standing above the water, soaking in pristine ocean views and reveling in a fishing experience that is uniquely San Simeon and unlike anything else in the world.
Located just off Highway 1, the William Randolph Hearst Memorial State Beach offers a public pier where anglers can pull in barred surf, rainbow, rubberlip and walleye perch all year long, in addition to three kinds of croakers in late summer, without a fishing license.
Surf fishing is also permitted with a valid California fishing license, and we ask that you please refer to California Fish and Game regulations.

Please note that both San Simeon and Santa Rosa Creeks are closed to fishing most of the year.
